How to Make Coffee Using a Chemex Coffee Maker

There is a lot more to making the perfect cup of coffee than sprinkling a few coffee granules into the bottom of a mug, pouring in some boiling water and a bit of milk.

One of the best ways to make coffee is with a Chemex Coffeemaker (aka a pristine coffeemaker). Invented in 1941 by German inventor Peter Schlumbohm, the simple, sleak hourglass shape of the Chemex coffermaker has become a design classic.

The unit is made from one piece of glass and has no working parts. It will work forever (as long as it isn’t dropped on a surface it doesn’t agree with) and should provide you with a consistently delicious cup of coffee every time.

The Chemex Coffemaker works in conjunction with high quality filters (which hold the coffee beans) placed in the top half of the unit to slowly infuse the coffee by allowing the hot water to drip slowly onto the ground coffee beans.
