Beside insulating pipes from cold weather, a very effective way of protecting pipes from freezing is to introduce a circulating pump into the water system. By installing a circulation system, the water from the 'hot' side of the system gets sent to the 'cold' water line. This greatly reduces the possibility of water pipes freezing because the water temperature never reaches the critical freezing point.

The best one on the market I've seen is available at http://avoidfrozenpipes.com/ It is the only circulating pump I've seen that doesn't need electricity to run. It can be installed anywhere in the water system, and save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in home repairs if frozen pipes burst from water expansion.

Some great tips about going paperless Jessy. These days it's even easier to us an EDM system to cut down on the amount of dead-tree documents you need to handle, whether you're working in a big company collaborating on documents using SharePoint or just a home user scanning your monthly bills and bank statements into Evernote.

Hi Jon, best of luck to you! Giving up smoking is not easy but once you get over the rough period you'll wonder what the heck you were doing and why you never stopped sooner. My fingers are crossed for you.

HI. I am planning to quit on smoking and planning to do it on Monday morning this coming week, and glad to say I found this blog. I am cleaning all my stuff, like lighters that I have and ashtrays on my work table and office. I agree that only will power can do it best. Crossing my fingers.

For the rest of my trip, I don’t think to look. I only think about it when I’m driving and it’s time to fill up the tank. I try to use the side view mirrors to see which side the gas cap is on. It never works. Then I look at other cars on the road, hoping to spot one that is the same model as mine so I can see which side the gas cap is on. Unfortunately, I’m car blind in the way that some people are face blind, so that usually doesn’t work. I usually end up driving to the pump and finding out if I got lucky.

One of the major considerations I think for travel blogs is either being very very good at publicizing them, or choosing a blog in an area which isn't saturated (for instance, I would say cruise ship online websites are somewhat saturated and very hard to get into). That way you get to be a big fish in a somewhat small sea and hopefully earn some good side money.

Your guidance on writing profiles and uploading pictures is good -- but let's not over emphasize the chances of success. Even the best profile will be used to weed out people who are not right for you, so expect a significant failure rate when contacting people. I am 66 and twice used internet dating successfully. ( I tell the full story of my first adventure in Internet Safari, Finding Love Online at 65.) I contacted hundreds of women who looked good from their profiles, but only 15% responded because they found me interesting. That may not sound like a good percentage, but it resulting in meeting 50 women over a 7 month period and in two long-term relationships. Bottom line is that it is a numbers game. Expect lack of response most of the time. If you have done a good profile, those who do respond are more likely to be compatible with you and lead to better experiences when you meet those who did respond.

I would like to congratulate the author for practicing to wet shave instead of using an electric razor. To get the perfect shave, most guys prefer using Merkur razors. It will permit a close shave while still offering maximum protection from razor burn.
